*taps mic* Just because you and your boo are Black professionals doesn't make you the next Barack and Michelle. Some folks are more like Bobby and Whitney. Ike and Tina. Nas and Kelis. Eminem and Kim. Not Barack and Michelle. People need to quit playing these bald-headed games. Barack and Michelle aren't even Barack and Michelle. They admit it takes hard work.
And also... While I'm at. I wish they'd quit having UNmarried people give relationship advice on how to get men. *looks at Sherri Shepherd*...And Steve Harvey's been divorced 3times. Only advice he can give anyone is how to pick the perfectly bright loud suit. I love Steve but...Some single women need to stop READING unqualified advice and leave the house. Quit whining and MAYBE. Just MAYBE you can get a man. Nightline thought Black women's singlehood was newsworthy. REAL news is "How did Frankie & Neffe get men?" Should be an exposé. I'm pretty bored by all this "single black woman" coverage on blogs, TV, radio, fireside chat, campfire circle. I just don't give a damn! Maybe you're single because you're a bitter broad who broods about her unBrilliant life of being BOOLESS! Let ONE day pass without you talking about it. LORD!!
iHate when women define their lives by their current relationship status. We are MORE than whether we have a man to call "BOO" or not. When yall done BEATING THIS DEAD HORSE INTO A PULP, let me know. I'll be the one in the corner giving u the side-eye!
I absolutely love this! Even though it seems like black women are getting more publicity these days (read: whining about it), there are tons of other women from all races and ages doing the exact same thing. Bitter brooding!
I agree and I understand your frustrations.
Let it all out... yeah!! I love this post. You made some interesting points there.
I have been to dungeon parties where they use those "Shut Up" hoods. hehe Good post (if you don't mind an old white man's opinion)

Oh yes, I feel ya on that
You tell 'em! If everyone who whined about needing a man, just got their asses in gear and put that energy into making an awesome life without a man, they'd be happy and have the kind of men they want to attract swarming around like bees to honey. No guy wants a bitter, whiney woman.
I've been married for 11 years and STILL can't give advice on how to make it work. You just kinda blunder through it day by day I guess. It helps that he makes me laugh my ass off every day.
