  • Never Alone . . . In His Favor

    I get scared, terrified sometimes
The unknown lurking within your shadow
Unable to identify who you are any more
Things change, people change, and our lives rotate unexpectedly
You try to keep your balance but sometimes it’s too hard
You want to ask for help but you’re too ashamed
You want to hold on to your faith but you can’t find your grip

Then that’s when you see one set of footprints
And you think this ride’s on Him
I’ll curl up in His arms and let Him bring me home
Never for a moment would my God leave me alone

I sometimes forget to lay my burdens at His feet
Forgetting He has power over all thy enemies
He’s strong, He loves deeply, and most of all he’s forgiving
It’s his mercy that pierces my heart to where I’m brought to my knees
He’s too good to me and He’s ALL that I adore
My sins are the thing of the past He says, no need to bring them up anymore

I would never push my faith on someone who does not believe
But the idea of never standing in His presence ever is something hard for me to conceive
He is my vision and selfishly I allow myself to go blind
I know, I know I can be a fool some times
But still he’s just so glorious, to where he seeks my love
Tainted, broken, bitter ole me …
    Somehow he finds me captivating

I walk in His favor and yet I still desperately yearn to walk not by sight
I want to drown my flesh in His blood and follow His lead
From this moment and on out He will be my only sight
I love you Lord, you are my Savior above all things I declare
And though I am not perfect,
I know that you don’t care
I promise to do all that I can to make You proud of me
Because at the end of my days you are right where I want to be

How beautiful is this. It applies to all believers in God, not just Christians. :) I love it.

    "I’ll curl up in
His arms and let Him bring me home
Never for a moment would my God leave me alone" I may be wrong, but did you base this on the story of the man who dreamt he saw two sets of footprints, him and God, all through his life, but then at difficulty he noticed only one pair, and he asked God why He'd abandoned him, but God said "these are not your own footprints, they're Mine. I carried you in your time of need." Something like that, right? Well, it reminded me of it. That's a beautiful story.

    "He’s too good to
me and He’s ALL that I adore
    My
sins are the thing of the past He says, no need to bring them up
anymore" I also loved that bit specially.
